The teachers
Principal Teacher of Learning Support- Sue Phillips
Sue has worked at Fortrose longer than she can remember! She was formerly a Primary teacher in many schools. She organised playgroups around the local area and raised three children, all of whom attended Fortrose Academy. She worked as an LS teacher in the department before becoming the Principal teacher. Sue is very active and enjoys outdoor activites spending her time walking, cycling, skiing and gardening (all things to get her away from doing housework).
Support teacher- Iain Hogg
Iain is the newest member of the departments teaching staff. He studied Education at Edinburgh University graduating in 2006. After a few years teaching in Fort William he moved back to the area to work as a supply teacher around Ross-Shire primary schools. Iain, a former pupil of Fortrose, gained a temporary post in the department in the summer of 2009. The post was made permanent in January 2010. Iain is a keen footballer and manages the first year team. He spends his weekends djing at clubs around Scotland.
Support teacher- Rena Maclean
Rena Has worked in the department for five years. Before working at Fortrose Rena worked as a Home Economics teacher in Cleveden, Motherwell, Nairn, Inverness Royal Academy and Inverness High school. She was also a lecturer of Home economics at Motherwell college. She currently splits her time between the learning support and the Home Ec departments. Rena has two daughters who are former pupils and now go to Strathcylyde University and a son who still attends the school. She has many interests that include cooking, dressmaking, badminton and socialising with friends.
Support teacher- Iolanda Calder
Iolander previously worked in Fortrose as a Biology and Science teacher.
She has five daughters and is now a Granny.
She organizes the school garden and is always on the lookout for keen volunteers to help out.

Support teacher- Christine Mackellar

Support Assistant- Catherine Cuthill
Catherine has worked at the school since 2004 and loves her job.She is from an agricultural background and the schools resident potato expert so if you have any questions on Solanum tuberosum Catherine is your girl!
Support Assistant- Corinna Macfarlane
Corina has worked at the school since 2004. She has four children, a Cat and six fish although she hasn't said who she likes the most. Corinna is an avid reader and loves going to the bingo.
Support Assistant- Catherine Aiton
Cath previously worked at Resolis Primary. She has two children. She is a great horse women and organizes pupils attending RDA. She enjoying teaching horse riding and judging in her spare time and is heavily involved with the Ross-shire Ponyclub. How she finds time to go to work is a mystery.
Support Assistant- Susan Grant
Susan is the "senior" auxiliary having been here longer than she cares to remember. She enjoys walking and Nordic skiing. She is the departments fitness expert.
Support Assistant- Frances Mackay
Frances has worked here since 2005. As a trained medical secretary she is an expert at deciphering any ones writing no matter how poor , a very useful skill.
Support Assistant- Sarah Atkin
Sarah is a part time member of the department.
Support auxiliary- Deborah Guthrie
Deborah also works part time in the department. She is a keen cyclist and has 2 dogs which need a lot of walking.She is also a nurse.
